Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate

Cargill invests US $100 Million in Ghana cocoa processing plant (21/11/2008)

On November 4th we celebrated the official opening of our new processing plant in Tema, Ghana. It was a memorable and happy occasion, particularly as the ceremony was officiated over by His Excellency, Mr. John A Kufuor, President of the Republic of Ghana and Mr. Greg Page, Chairman and CEO of Cargill.

Our new, ultra-modern plant will have a bean grinding capacity of 65,000 MT. Ghana is the world's 2nd largest cocoa producer. Our customers will now have greater access to the finest quality Ghanaian cocoa with the assurance that they have been processed by Cargill under their stringent quality controls and with their technical expertise to ensure the best and most consistent quality cocoa product available. The combination of these fine beans and the best technology available in the market will delight customers all over the world with the good taste of Ghana.

We aim to have samples of natural Ghanaian, lightly alkalized and strongly alkalized powders available to the market within a few weeks.
