Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate

Update: Mouscron chocolate plant - built to the highest standard (05/03/2010)

Cargill Chocolate

Our state-of-the-art chocolate factory in Mouscron opened in January 2003. Drawing on the firsthand knowledge of the project team and their extensive experience in operating chocolate factories the 100% automated plant was built to the highest specifications. With the most up to date chocolate manufacturing machines, it is highly efficient and cost effective. It is also extremely flexible despite the high volume and has the capability to produce batches between 6 and 24 tons and handle multiple ingredients. The facility currently has two dedicated lines manufacturing liquid chocolate, one for milk chocolate and the other for dark chocolate, each with a capacity of 30,000 MT/year. The plant specialises in the production of single origin chocolates and high cocoa content dark chocolates and has a moulding line for chips and chunks for the bakery industry with an annual capacity of 8,000 MT.

The new production site was designed for optimal product flow and conforms to the most stringent environmental, food safety and hygiene standards. As a result, when Mouscron renewed its BRC certification last December it was awarded the highest level, with not even one minor non-conformity.

We are proud of the fact that our end product has the highest microbiological standard in the food industry and that our products have incredibly consistent rheological properties. With our in-house sensory panel of chocolate experts taste testing the incoming raw materials, and the final products, we can ensure that only the best quality chocolate reaches our customers.
