Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate

Finalist for Corporate Citizenship Award (29/10/2010)

The United States Chamber Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) has selected Cargill as one of five finalists for a 2010 Corporate Citizenship Award, acknowledging our long-term commitment and efforts in building a sustainable cocoa supply chain.

The awards recognize companies that make positive contributions to their communities, advance important economic and social goals and demonstrate ethical leadership and sound stewardship. Cargill was nominated for its farmer training programs and other activities in West Africa, such as providing support to strengthen farmers’ cooperatives.

“The success of the cocoa farmer is essential to our success and that of our customers,” commented Greg Page, Cargill’s chairman and CEO.

Full details on the finalists are available online at www.uschamber.com/bclc/awards. Winners will be announced November 30 in Washington, D.C.
