New food safety measures at cocoa plants (06/05/2013)

New measures to reduce or eliminate potential cross-contamination risks are being introduced in our cocoa plants at Wormer and Zaandam.

Hygiene barriers are being installed and staff, contractors, and visitors will be required to disinfect their hands and shoes as they enter the plants.

Staff and contractors will no longer be able to leave during working hours, but lunch and leisure facilities are provided within the plants.

Different zones with controlled access will be created in the plants, to help ensure a sterile environment.

The measures are part of Cargill's corporate food objectives to ensure even higher standards around food hygiene and food safety.
